Scale’s S-Series, 4TB cluster has delivered a simple, scalable, VMware Ready storage solution. In addition, Scale’s cost-effective storage, combined with VMware’s vSphere Essentials Kit, made Mays Chemical’s virtualization project an economic reality. Mays Chemical is recognized as a source for chemicals, related raw materials, formulated products, chemical management expertise and outsourcing services. Mays Chemical services a variety of industries including: food and beverage, pharmaceutical, automotive, personal care, electronics and laboratory and healthcare. As the company’s servers aged, several new IT projects emerged that would require new hardware. Mays Chemical’s IT department concluded that virtualization was the best solution and began researching options to virtualize and consolidate the company’s servers. “As a small business, our budget was more limited than that of a large enterprise. We knew that we wanted to virtualize our servers but were concerned about the costs associated with virtualization solutions and the necessary storage. VMware’s vSphere Essentials Kit was a cost-effective solution to consolidate our servers, but we needed to find a storage solution that had enterprise-level performance and power at a price that was within our budget,” said Tony Davitto, network administrator, Mays Chemical.
