Remember the days of your Atari 2600 and when a Big Mac was good for you?
Well I do! Twenty years ago, nobody thought of SECURITY - security was paying your mortgage on time and having money left over for that vacation at the lake.
Now I have to worry about whether or not my computer is safe – and I have come to terms with that.
With the gaining popularity of Smartphones, texting, twittering and all other methods of staying connected, securing voice applications is becoming more important
I never thought my phones calls could be tapped but with the popularity of VoIP and how open the Internet is to abuse, our calls can be overhead with just a simple packet capture device or software like WireShark. This is crazy!
UM-Labs knows voice security is fast becoming a hot issue. They have incorporated ZRTP into their line of SIP Security Controllers. ZRTP is a cryptographic key-agreement protocol to negotiate the keys for encryption between two end points in a VoIP phone telephone call based on the Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP).
Just think of the benefits… how many times do you read your credit card number over the phone or give private information? Exactly, too many times! So, you’ve got to wonder, are your calls safe?
Now that I have to worry about whether or not my calls are safe, it is good to have a solution like the UM Labs SIP security controller to help me come to terms with that.
